How the trip goes

Times for mid-August. We leave about two hours before sunset, so departures move through the season.

  1. Board on the riva

Find Delfino at berth 1 below the old town. Grab the bow if you want the first look.

  2. Out past the islands

The skipper heads for the open water where the pods feed in the evening. Eyes on the surface.

  3. Engine to idle

When we find them, we stop and wait. No chasing. Most of the time, they come to us.

  4. Sunset behind St. Euphemia

Home on the gold, the bell tower in silhouette, back on the riva by 20:30 in time for dinner.

Included

  • A dolphin search led by a skipper who grew up on this water
  • The sunset over the old town from the sea
  • Life jackets for all ages

Bring

  • A light jacket for the way home
  • Sunglasses

Find Delfino on the riva

Look for the white motor yacht, black dolphin and DELFINO on her side, at berth 1 below the old town. Board 15 minutes before departure.

Where we go

From the riva in Rovinj to Dolphin grounds, and back.

If the bura blows, you don’t lose a cent

The bura is the cold north-easterly that can whip up the Adriatic in an hour. If we cancel a trip because of wind or weather, you choose: every euro back, or seats on another day. We decide on the morning and message you straight away.

Good to know

Not here? Call or message us. Someone from the family picks up, usually from the riva.

Where do the boats leave from?

All three boats leave from the riva, the harbour front below Rovinj old town. Delfino uses berth 1, Bonaca berth 2 and Galeb berth 3. Your ticket names your boat, what she looks like and her berth. If you need a hand, find the Delfino booth on the riva and we'll walk you over.

Will we definitely see dolphins?

They are wild, so nobody can promise. What we can promise is skippers who have spent their working lives on this stretch of sea and know where the pods tend to feed at dusk. We never chase, feed or crowd them; when we find them, the engine drops to idle and they choose how close to come.

Can I pay part now and the rest on board?

Yes. Pay a deposit online to hold your seats and settle the rest on board, in cash or by card. If you'd rather not think about it on the day, pay the full fare online.

What if the weather is bad?

If we cancel a trip because of wind or weather, you choose: a full refund of everything you paid, or seats on another day. We decide on the morning of the trip and message you straight away.

How much do children pay?

Children from 3 to 11 pay the kids' fare shown on every trip, and children under 3 travel free on a lap. We carry life jackets in every size. The Old Town Panorama is the easiest start for little ones.

Prices per adult. Kids 3–11 pay the kids’ fare; under 3s travel free on a lap.
